GWG ART: KILLER HEELS

Over the weekend we had the great pleasure of visiting the Brooklyn Museum for the extended run of Killer Heels that showcases fashion’s most provocative and powerful accessory.

From platforms of the 16th century to its early roots in Asia, Italy and beyond; Killer Heels explores the glamorous shoes on today’s runways and red carpets in addition to the many different forms and creations that it has evolved into today.

Whether it was a fetish, style statement or tool of power your wildest imagination couldn’t even come close dreaming up the beauty and wonderment of this jaw droppin’ , ankle rollin’ and strut walkin’ pieces of art.

Shoes on display came from a wide array of design houses including Manolo Blahnik, Chanel, Salvatore Ferragamo, Zaha Hadid X United Nude, Iris van Herpen X United Nude, Christian Louboutin, Alexander McQueen, André Perugia, Prada, Elsa Schiaparelli, Noritaka Tatehana, Vivienne Westwood, and Pietro Yantorny.
